My Book Boyfriend-- Harry!!!

My book boyfriend is a weekly meme hosted by Missie at The Unread Reader. Each Wednesday you pick a boy from a book that you love and gush all about him. What does he look like? What does he like? Who he looks like, all that.

This post is all about Harry Potter. I'm going with a real easy one for a few reasons 1) Because the last movie just came out on dvd and I've been watching it a lot 2) I'm listening to the Deathly Hallows audiobook 3) I stare at my poster of him all.the.time. 4) I couldn't think of any other book boy at the moment and I'm too lazy to research right now.

So about Harry:
*Tall and skinny
* BRIGHT GREEN EYES (sorry, bothers me that they gave up on this fact after the first two movies),
*Messy black hair
*Is the Chosen One
*Is completely awesome in every single way.

Who plays him:
Daniel Radcliffe. Duh. I've been madly in love with Daniel for...holy shit 12 years now. Ever since they first cast him as Harry. Don't worry, I was also that young seeing as how me and Daniel are the same age.

He went from this
To this

To this

*sigh* I'm just so madly in love with him :)
I'm gonna stop posting pictures now before there are about a hundred pictures of him on here. Stopping while I can.

Quotes:
Here are just some fun ones I've always liked.

“Do you remember me telling you we are practicing non-verbal spells, Potter?"
"Yes," said Harry stiffly.
"Yes, sir."
"There's no need to call me 'sir' Professor."
The words had escaped him before he knew what he was saying.”

“There was a clatter as the basilisk fangs cascaded out of Hermione's arms. Running at Ron, she flung them around his neck and kissed him full on the mouth. Ron threw away the fangs and broomstick he was holding and responded with such enthusiasm that he lifted Hermione off her feet.
"Is this the moment?" Harry asked weakly, and when nothing happened except that Ron and Hermione gripped each other still more firmly and swayed on the spot, he raised his voice. "OI! There's a war going on here!"
Ron and Hermione broke apart, their arms still around each other.
"I know, mate," said Ron, who looked as though he had recently been hit on the back of the head with a Bludger, "so it's now or never, isn't it?"
"Never mind that, what about the Horcrux?" Harry shouted. "D'you think you could just --- just hold it in, until we've got the diadem?"
"Yeah --- right --- sorry ---" said Ron, and he and Hermione set about gathering up fangs, both pink in the face.”

“He was my mum and dad's best friend. He's a convicted murderer, but he's broken out of wizard prison and he's on the run. He likes to keep in touch with me, though...keep up with news...check if I'm happy...”

“You'd think people had better things to gossip about," said Ginny as she sat on the common room floor, leaning against Harry’s legs and reading the Daily Prophet. "Three Dementor attacks in a week, and all Romilda Vane does is ask me if it’s true you’ve got a Hippogriff tattooed across your chest."
Ron and Hermione both roared with laughter. Harry ignored them.
What did you tell her?"
I told her it's a Hungarian Horntail," said Ginny, turning a page of the newspaper idly. "Much more macho."
Thanks," said Harry, grinning. "And what did you tell her Ron’s got?"
A Pygmy Puff, but I didn’t say where.”

“It's going to be all right, sir," Harry said over and over again, more worried by Dumbledore's silence than he had been by his weakened voice. "We're nearly there ... I can Apparate us both back ... don't worry ..."
"I am not worried, Harry," said Dumbledore, his voice a little stronger despite the freezing water. "I am with you.”

“Harry looked around; there was Ginny running toward him; she had a hard blazing look in her face as she threw her arms around him. And without thinking, without planning it, without worrying about the fact that fifty people were watching, Harry kissed her. After several long moments, or it might have been half an hour-or possibly several sunlit days- they broke apart.”

  1. Ah see, maybe it's coz we "meet" him as a young boy, I just never saw Harry as book boyfriend material myself. I like him as a character though. And I like him with Ginny :)

  2. I was big on Fred, personally (yes, I have a twin preference. don't judge me!). Though I have to agree with the Dan Radcliffe thing. The really did cast him perfectly (except for the eyes). The perfect-Potter look was def. in the 3rd movie. Which was when I started swooning for Daniel (I'm only 2 years older than the boy-o, it's fine!)

  3. Harry Potter shall forever remain my first boyfriend no matter what the epilogue said. And it's been almost 11 years since my HP love. lol. Seeing HP movies so many times I think even Draco Malfoy can fill up the boyfriend position *le sigh*

  4. Awwww I adore Harry! He definitely grew up a lot from that first movie (though maybe not so much in height, he's still kinda little), but he got super cute:)

  6. Gotta love Harry! I started reading the books after seeing movie #1 so Dan has always been the perfect Harry. Even though I'm a few years older than him, I am not ashamed to admit that I have stared at the second picture many times. Great choice!

  7. It's so hard for me to see Daniel Radcliffe as anything other than Harry! He immortalized that role!

  8. I love harry potter so much! He is my childhood more than anything. I couldn't make him into a book boyfriend though...He's just Harry...just Harry ;) I love Dan Radcliffe as Harry...but to be honest...I don't think he aged very well...He's a total cutie in the first two or three...I'm not a fan of the later him

  14. Ah, I love this post. :) You know, it's rare that I think of Harry as hunky, boyfriend material type because I always think of him as a best friend hero... but Harry needs some love too! :)

  16. Awwww Harry :) I fail so much because I could never manage to get into the books, so I ended up watching the films. But I love Daniel, and he did do really well growing up :)

I love getting comments! I'm always checking to see if I have any new comments. It's actually pretty sad how often I check for them really. So if there is anything you want to say about a post of mine, please say it! I want feedback :)

As of lately, I'm making the blog a no-award blog. I love getting them and I'm always honored, but I don't have the time to do all the things that are required of them. Sorry :(
Also, my "reply" button does not seem to be working in my comments on my computer. I have to use a different computer to reply back so if I don't reply, it's not because I'm rude, it's just that I can't.
