What it's about:
A beast. Not quite wolf or bear, gorilla or dog but a horrible new creature who walks upright--a creature with fangs and claws and hair springing from every pore. I am a monster.
You think I'm talking fairy tales? No way. The place is New York City. The time is now. It's no deformity, no disease. And I'll stay this way forever--ruined--unless I can break the spell. Yes, the spell, the one the witch in my English class cast on me. Why did she turn me into a beast who hides by day and prowls by night? I'll tell you. I'll tell you how I used to be Kyle Kingsbury, the guy you wished you were, with money, perfect looks, and the perfect life. And then, I'll tell you how I became perfectly...beastly.

My thoughts:
What the discription of the book doesn't really tell you is that this is a modern day telling of Beauty and the Beast, but from the Beasts point of view. I thought this was a pretty cool idea and figured you can't really go wrong with Beauty and the Beast theme.

This was a fast, cute read. Pretty corny really and in the beginning I wasn't sure if I was going to finish it. The main reason I was reading it was because the movie is being made and has Alex Pettyfer in it (I have a big fan girly crush on him). Once I got to a certain point in the book, I found that I was enjoying it. It was too cute not to enjoy it.
I actually really liked Kyle's character from the beginning. This might seem weird knowing how in the beginning he was this horrible kid. I liked how you could see how much potential he had to grow as a character. Plus you could see he was like that because that is how his father is and all of his friends are as well.
Umm there isn't much to say about this book. It was corny as corny could be but very cute. Just like a Disney movie. The chatroom conversations in this book were a little odd (which fairy tale is Grizzly supposed to be?) but overall it works. If you like the story of Beauty and the Beast, go ahead and read this story. It's a cute, mindless, summer read.

my rating: 8/10

I love getting comments! I'm always checking to see if I have any new comments. It's actually pretty sad how often I check for them really. So if there is anything you want to say about a post of mine, please say it! I want feedback :)

As of lately, I'm making the blog a no-award blog. I love getting them and I'm always honored, but I don't have the time to do all the things that are required of them. Sorry :(
Also, my "reply" button does not seem to be working in my comments on my computer. I have to use a different computer to reply back so if I don't reply, it's not because I'm rude, it's just that I can't.
