Feature and Follow Friday

Feature and Follow is a weekly meme hosted by Alison Can Read and Parajunkee. It is a hop in which is make your own post, answer the question, follow the featured blog, link up to the original post and make sure to visit lots of blogs!

Q: Have you ever bought a book BECAUSE of a bad review?

Yes. Well, I'm actually going to be getting the book from the library when it comes out but close enough. I read a review for First Comes Love by Katie Kacvinsky and the reviewer HATED the book. Went on a rant about how much she disliked this book. I had never heard of the book and thought it sounded good minus the bad rant that I had just read so I went onto Goodreads (by far my all time favorite website ever) and looked at the book. It has a high rating. So I added it. I'm curious now.

But I do have to admit, one time I wrote a super bad review for a book. I ranted about it and how awful it was. All the comments I got on the review was "oh, I thought this book sounded really good. I'm still gonna read it" or "I've heard nothing but bad things about this book. I'm still gonna read it though." All I could think in reply to that was "WTF? Seriously?" One bad review isn't going to put me off of a book, but lots of bad reviews and nothing but bad reviews? That means I'm gonna stay away from it. Life is too short for bad books.

Feature and Follow Friday

Feature and Follow Friday is a blog  hop that happens every Friday and is hosted by Parajunkee and Alisoncanread

Q: What is the best book you've read in the last month? What is the worst book you've read in the last month?
Hmmm. Nothing popped into my head right away, but when I looked up what books I've read this last month, I realized I've read some fantastic books. Besides the new Kim Harrison (which wouldn't be fair to other books, because KH books will always be my favorite) I'd have to say It's a toss up between Amy and Roger's Epic Detour by Morgan Matson and Incarnate by Jodi Meadows as my favorites.

Both of these books took me by surprise. I am so madly in love with both of them for completely different reasons. Definitely must reads.

And as for worst book (which wasn't bad, just not fantastic) would have to be Article 5 by Kristen Simmons.
I had high hopes for this book. I'd been hearing that it was pretty good and I love dystopians, so I figured I'd love it. Wrong. It was "eh." Nothing fantastic and it took me longer than I'd hope to read it.

Feature and Follow Hop

Q: Have you ever looked at book's cover and thought, This is going to be horrible? But, was instead pleasantly surprised? Show us the cover and tell us about the book.
This question leaves me completely puzzled. Why would I pick up a book with a bad cover and think it was going to be horrible, and then read it? If I think a book is going to be horrible, I'm not going to read it. I can think of books that have ugly covers, but I've never thought that the book will be bad because of it. I just think the author was unfortunate to have a bad cover designer.

Recap of posts I did this week:
My Book Boyfriend--Roger from Amy and Roger's Epic Detour
Movie Update-- The Host by Stephenie Meyer
Top Ten Tuesday--Favorite YA book covers
Review: A Beautiful Dark by Jocelyn Davies
Review: Dead To You by Lisa McMann

Feature and Follow Book Blog Hop

F&F is a weely blog hop hosted by Parajunkee and Alison.

Q: What book would you love to see made into a movie or television show and do you have actors/actresses in mind to play the main characters?

Hmmm that's a hard one. I have a love/hate relationship with my favorite books being turned into movies or tv series. So I'm picking one that is actually being turned into a movie and say City of Bones by Cassandra Clare. I'm insanely disappointed in who they have cast for both Clary and Jace.  Here is my dream cast.

So those are the people I really wish they would cast. I'm so angry about the Lili and Jamie casts that they have already done. Lily is a poor actress with hideous eyebrows that no one ever seems to fix for her and while Jamie is a decent actor, but he isn't really "Jace" material. Plus he's already in Twilight and Harry Potter. He doesn't need to be in MI too. He's being a major blockbuster hog.

Anywho, here are some of the posts I've done this week:

F&F blog hop!

F&F is a weekly post hosted by Parajunkee and Alison. What you do is sign up on one of their pages, make your own post, and then start going to blog to blog. Follow lots of cool new bloggers, catch up with old bloggers, just have fun.

It's been so long since I've done a hop! I used to do it every Friday but I sorta just..stopped. Not sure why I stopped but it feels good to be back at it.

This weeks activity!
Take a picture or describe where you love to read the most…

I like to read in my big comfy bed with my billions of pillows and most of my furry cuddle buddies with me. They know when I'm in bed reading I'll most likely be there for hours so they all pile on. They enjoy hogging the bed and snoring.

With GFC coming to an end soon, I plan on putting up more ways to follow this blog. I've seen the Linky follow tool popping up a lot and also networked blogs. What is everyones favorite way to follow a blog?
