Top Ten Tuesday-- Bookish People I Want To Meet

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by the girls at The Broke and the Bookish

This weeks topic is Top Ten Bookish People You Want To Meet (Authors, Bloggers, etc.)

As always, these are in no particular order.

1. John Green:
I had a chance to meet him back in January but couldn't get the time off work so I didn't get to go.
:( Super upset about that. I have the biggest fan girl crush on John. Not only are his books beyond brilliant and amazing, but his Vlogbrother videos are hilarious, his Crashcourse History videos entertaining and educating, but he also helps create things like Leakycon and Vidcon, and not to mention him and his brother created Nerdfighters!!!

2. Olivia Cunning:
I think it'd be fun to get all girly with her and talk about hott rocker guys and just gush. She commented on my blog once and I freaked. That was an exciting moment for me. I love when I get author comments or emails. To me, authors are like rock stars themselves so it's always fun when you get to talk to them.

3 & 4. David Levithan and Sarah Rees Brennan:
The reason I put these two together is that next month I have the option of meeting one or the other of them. Unfortunately they will both be in Portland on the same day, different places! So now I have to pick, which amazing person am I going to pick? How do you decide something like that??? Which one would you guys pick?

5. Any blogger:
Yup, I love to meet other bloggers. It's always fun to sit around talking about all the different memes, books, designs, and all the drama that is the book blogging world. Lately I've realized how many Pacific Northwest bloggers there are in particular and think it would be fantastic if we all got together somewhere and hung out. If someone wants to put that together, I would help out.

6. Suzanne Collins:
I had the option of meeting her two years ago on her Mockingjay tour and I didn't go! I'm kicking myself for that now. I want to go and ask her "why Finnick???" I know she's probably heard it a million times, but I've never heard the reasoning and I must know. Hopefully it's not as lame as JK Rowlings "Fred just had to die" statement. Because no, JK, no he didn't.

7. Cayla Kluver:
She was so young when she wrote her first book and is still really young and is about to have her 3rd book published. She's in college for freaking sake. I think it'd be fun to meet her. There aren't that many really young authors out there.

8. Jeaniene Frost:
I've been a fan of hers for years now and have been stalking her blog for that long and yet she has never made it over to the west coast in that time. Why Jeaniene why? West coast needs some love as well.

9. Kiersten White:
While the last two books in the Paranormalcy series were kinda a bummer for me, I'd still love to meet Kiersten. Every time I watch one of her vlogs she cracks me up. She seems like a really fun person to be around.

10. CC Hunter:
I adore her Born At Midnight series and would really like to meet the person who wrote them. They are just too much fun and one of the only series in which I didn't guess the answer to the big question. So rare for me so it's exciting when I meet an author who can actually keep me guessing. Not to mention she has created one of the only good love triangles I have read.

11. Marguerite Gavin:
After reading a bunch of other peoples TTT lists, someone posted a bunch of audiobook readers and I decided I must add Marguerite to the list. She does all of Kim Harrison's books and she is WONDERFUL. The best audiobook reader ever. I read all of Kim's books in her voices now. Now if only they would redo book #6 with Marguerite because the lady they had do it was horrible.


Thought I'd post about some awesome bookish people that were on my "to meet" list that I actually got to meet.
1. JK Rowling:
She came and sat next to my sister and me while we were in the Paris airport waiting to go to Edinburgh. She helped us translate what the stewardess was saying because we couldn't even begin to understand her. This is perhaps one of the coolest moments of my life.

2. Cassandra Clare:
This was an amazing signing. The whole audience nerded out and I actually got to talk to Cassie for a few minutes while she was signing my books. She told me about Alex Pettyfer calling her and talking about Jace, and then we talked about Will and Jem and how Oregonians seem to prefer Jem over Will (except for me, I was the first to pick Team Will. Go me! haha)

3. Kendare Blake:
I just met her a few weeks ago and boy is she cool. One of those people that I wish we were friends because she is just that much fun to talk to. We talked about killing animals in books and how much it pisses us off when it happens. If you've read Anna Dressed In Blood, you will find that ironic.

4. Veronica Roth:
Met her right after Divergent came out. I still can't believe she is the same age as me and yet she has a best selling book that is about to be a huge movie. I told her I want Darren Criss to play Four. She looked at me kinda funny when I told her that Darren is adorable. She doesn't want someone adorable playing Four.

5. Stephanie Perkins:
I drove 4 hours to go to her signing. We talked about Nerdfighteria and did the DFTBA sign for our picture together. Yay for nerdfighters!

6. Kim Harrison:
It wouldn't be a ttt post if I didn't talk about Kim on it at least once. I've met Kim loads of times (I never miss her signings when she comes to Portland). I get a picture with her each time and ask her random questions I have about the series. It's always a blast. So many people show up for her signings and we all mingle and debate the books and who Rachel should end up with (my vote is Trent).

This weeks topic is Top Ten Books That Make You Think (About The World, People, Life, etc.)

These are in no  order, just whatever popped into my head first.

1. Every Day by David Levithan:
I just read this last week and oh boy does it make you think. Makes me wonder about gender roles, love, relationships of all forms. Even religion. It blew my mind.

2. The Fault In Our Stars by John Green:
All of John's books make me think. It's part of the reason his books are so brilliant. I still think about this book all the time and get all weepy. It definitely makes me think about people and books and how we react to them.

3. Incarnate by Jodi Meadows:
In my review for this book, I talked about how much I loved it because of how much it made me think. How many questions it asked and how the world is set up. So so cool.

4. Stolen by Lucy Christopher:
This was more about my reaction to the book. Stockholm syndrome is a very real and questioning thing.

5. Forbidden by Tabitha Suzuma:
Made me question love and all the complications that come with it.

6. Unwind by Neal Shusterman:
OMG this book....wow. Just wow. I hope to goodness that nothing like this ever happens and hope that people never become so unconnected and cold hearted to think that this is acceptable.

7. Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins:
I don't believe this needs explaining.

8. The Murder of Roger Ackroyd by Agatha Christie:
Heh. This one is more about how brilliant the writing is. Makes me happy and has me questioning the whole book.

9. The Deadly Sister by Eliot Schrefer:
I was going through my list of reviews and this one popped out at me. It's not normally one I talk about much because I only thought it was okay. It's the ending that has me thinking for reasons I can't say on here because it's a spoiler. It has me thinking about anger, jealousy, and desperation.

10. Tell Me A Secret by Holly Cupala:
This is another one that jumped out at me. Maybe this one has me thinking because it's one of the only books I've read about teen pregnancy.

Top Ten Tuesday-- fall tbr list

This weeks top ten is Top Ten Books On Your Fall TBR List.

I'm going to make these the 10 books coming out this fall that I'm excited to read and hopefully I can get copies of them so they are on my tbr list. They are in order of release date and the links are to their Goodreads pages.

1. Outpost by Ann Aguirre (release Sept.4th):
I was madly in love with the first book in this series when I read it back in December. I'm pretty excited to get back into the dystopian world with Deuce and Fade.

2. Unspoken by Sarah Rees Brennan (release Sept. 11th):
Everyone is talking about how good this book is and I want to see what the hype is. Plus it sounds pretty good and I liked the other SRB books I've read.

3. Ten by Gretchen McNeil (Release Sept. 18th):
I'm a massive Agatha Christie fan. I own all but 5 of her books and plan on owning and reading all of them. So to see someone redo one of her books is pretty awesome. I can't wait to see if it's any good.

4. What's Left Of Me by Kat Zhang (Release Sept. 18th):
The cover alone had me dying to read this book. It's amazing. Then I read the synopsis and wow. Just wow. It sounds like it's going to be really good.

5. The Casual Vacancy by JK Rowling: (Release Sept. 27th):
Who doesn't have this on their list? I've already preordered mine.

6. The Mark of Athena by Rick Riordan: (Release Oct. 2nd):
I'm behind in this series but I'll be catching up pretty soon.

7. Poison Princess by Kresley Cole (Release Oct. 2nd):
I love Kresley Cole's adult books and can't wait to see how she does in the YA world.

8. Whispers at Moonrise by CC Hunter (Release Oct. 2nd):
This series is soooooo good!!!! Now that some things have been figured out in the 3rd book, I want to see how Kylie handles it and what in the world happens next.

9. Velveteen by Daniel Marks (Release Oct. 9th):
The synopsis sounds really interesting. Plus the whole "coworker" thing has me wondering. How do you have coworkers in purgatory? Guess I will have to read the book to find out.

10. Sacrifice by Cayla Kluver (Release Oct. 30th):
 Gah!!! I can not wait for this book. I love this series and will be excited to see how it ends.

Top Ten Tuesday-- bookish confessions!

This weeks topic is Top Ten Bookish Confessions (Anything! You dog ear, you hated a book but said you loved it, you have $500 library fines...anything goes!)

It took me a long time to come up with some bookish confessions.

1. I had to stop opening up emails from both Powells and B&N because if they offered free shipping, I could not pass up on it. They would send me an email saying "hey, free shipping on everything for today!" and even if I didn't need any books, I'd go on the site and order some. Ugh. I had to stop that.

2. I literally miss my books when I loan them out to friends. If my friends have been borrowing my books for too long, I'll start getting anxious to get them back and I'll become a huge nag, demanding them back. I'll look at my shelves all the time and think about my missing books, and of course those will be the ones I feel like rereading.

3. I have my library card number memorized. I had this memorized before I had my SSN memorized.

4. I freak out about damaged books. There can absolutely positively be no food on my pages, no dog eared flaps, no spin breaking. My sister once got hot sauce on one of my signed books and she was terrified. She emailed the author and asked the next time she'd be doing a signing cause she needed to replace my book. I laughed so hard at that.

5. One time I got a brand new book from the library, I was the first person to read it, and it somehow got water damage from sitting on my "library shelf" for two weeks. I was so freaked out that I had damaged the book that I couldn't enjoy it. I had to stop reading half way through.

6. I will buy the damaged used book that is falling apart instead of the other, in better shape, copy just so I can fix up the book. Glue it back together and fix the cover. No book should be treated that way.

These are the only ones that are coming to me right now. I'm sure I'll wake up in the middle of the night and have more to put on here, but for now this is it.

So umm... my top ten has an extra 14 books on it... I couldn't get myself to lower it and take any of those off. All these books (and series) are ones that I've read in the last 3 years (since I started the blog) and I think picking 24 out of 300 was hard enough.

Holy cow this is a really really really hard one.

1. My Book Boyfriend-- Harry:
I am a massive Harry Potter fan and have been for more than half my life. I used to play Harry Potter with my friends when I was younger (who am I kidding, I still do), I've seen all the movies the day they came out in theaters, bought the movies the day they came out on dvd, I've had HP posters hanging up on my walls since I was 11, I have hp shirts, I make wands for fun, I went to the theme park a few months after it opened and I cried when I walked into Hogsmead for the first time. I also went to London/Edinburgh and took pictures of everything HP related and I happened to meet JK herself on that trip. Harry Potter isn't an obsession, it's a lifestyle.

2. Let's talk about what makes you angry in a book:
This is a post I recently did talking about what annoys me in my books. These are all things that bug me a lot and some also apply to my day to day life.

3. Book buying spree:
This is not unusual for me to do. Just like every other book blogger, I adore buying books. I adore it so much that it has actually become a problem. Like a few weeks ago, Powells sent me an email saying "free shipping today!!!" and I went "Omg noooo wayyyy" and ordered a few books *facepalm*

4. YA or Bust tour:
This was the book tour I really wanted to go to and was able to go even though it meant I had to drive 4 hours and out of state to get to. So worth it.

5. Fun Book title survey:
Remember back when Myspace was cool or mass emails and everyone always did those surveys about themselves? I was a BIG fan of those. Did them all the freaking time. I took my love of surveys and applied them to my blog. I've done a few of them but this one was my favorite. I've done it a few times and will probably end up doing it again sometime.

6. When I'm not Reading:
I've done a few of these (and did a guest post on Missie the Unread Readers blog for it) and this one is about my painting. I paint a lot (these are all 2 years old or older) and I use the books I read as inspiration.

7. Favorite Book Quotes:
There are a few TTT that will be on this list. This one is my favorite book quotes (or some of them. I could never come up with only 10 of my favorites). There is a quote out there that goes something like "the quotes people like say more about them than the actual quotes" and I believe that is so true. :)

8. Books that gave me strong emotions:
The books I love and hate and my reactions to them I think says a lot about me ;)

I'm sure there are more posts that show the dazzling personality of yours truly (just read any of my TTT's and that shows a lot of my personality) but I was getting kinda tired of going through all my old posts. :)

Top Ten Tuesday- Characters I'd trade places with

1. Ginny from Harry Potter:
Not only does she have the coolest family ever, but she also marries Harry, of course I'd love to trade places with her for 24 hours. Duh. ;)

2. Anna from Anna and the French Kiss:
She's dating the American British French masterpiece, I'd gladly trade places with her.

3. Rachel from The Hollows:
While her life can really suck, her life is still insanely awesome. She lives in a church with pixies and a vampire, how awesome is that?

4. Meghan from Iron Queen:
She is a fairy queen who has Ash as a lover.

5. Bella from Twilight:
I debated about adding her to the list, but really she has an awesome life now that she's a vampire, well...sorta has an awesome life. I'd hate to be a vampire for the rest of time, but I'd love to test out all the cool things they can do. Super fast running, leaping tall buildings, crushing rocks with my hands, all that. Sounds like it could be fun for a day.

6. Annabeth from Percy Jackson:
Eh, why not? It might be fun being a demigod for a day.

7. Tessa from Clockwork Angel:
It'd be pretty cool to see Victorian London and to hang out with everyone at the Institute there, especially Will and Jem.

8. Kylie from Born at Midnight:
This girl has so many different powers. It would be really cool to be able to do some of the things she can.

9. Lend from Paranormalcy:
First boy on my list! woot woot! Lend is a one of a kind shape shifter. Might be sorta fun being him.

10. Ana from Incarnate:
Her world fascinates me to no end. What would it be like to be the only new soul in a world full of souls that are thousands of years old?

Top Ten Tuesday

This weeks top ten is Top Ten Most Vivid Worlds/Settings In Books


1. Hogwarts:
Between how detailed the books are, then the movies, and lastly the theme park, The Harry Potter world is definitely the most vivid setting there is. I adore everything about it and wish with my whole heart that it was real.

2. Pannem:
Damn the Capital! haha. While this is a very detailed world, I am so so so so so glad that it is not real.

3. The Maze (Maze Runner series by James Dashner):
I just finished this series and oh boy does this world completely suck, yet I'd love to be able to walk around the Glade and see the Maze.

4. The Hollows (The Hollows series by Kim Harrison):
Besides Harry Potter, I think the Hollows is the most vivid world I have the pleasure of reading about. I can perfectly imagine all the characters, the places, and the whole atmosphere of everything in that world. If I can't live in the Harry Potter world, then I'd definitely want to live in the Hollows world.

5. Chicago (Divergent by Veronica Roth):
After reading this book, who didn't sit there and decide on what faction they would have picked? And then most likely went and took the quiz and see if you were right? BTW, I'm Amity. Haha

6. Fablehaven (Fablehaven series by Brandon Mull):
I thought this world was pretty cool with all of its fantastic creatures. How cool would it be to go into your backyard and see things like faeries, centaurs, and satyrs?

7. Wonderland:
This one needs no introduction. I'm a massive AIW fan and I would love nothing more than to walk around Wonderland for a day, and hopefully avoid the Queen.

8.  The Tunnels (The Host by Stephenie Meyer):
I recently listened to the Host on audiobook for about the 4th time. Every time I read that book, I forget how much I absolutely love it. The world SM created is definitely a different take on aliens. Seriously? Peaceful aliens? But it works. And then all the humans hiding out in massive nature made tunnels underground, creating their own form of society? Amazing. Plus the tunnels have Ian in them <3

9. The Otherworld (Storm Born by Richelle Mead):
I debated about putting this one on the list because it bumped off the Nevernever, but I figured I'd go with a less known series. The faerie world Richelle created is dark yet interesting. I like how when the characters are walking around, it's not always the same layout. I kind of imagine the world like a pop-up book. Sort of like in the old Winnie-the-Pooh movies and how they have to jump from page to page. That is how I picture the Otherworld.

10. Camp Half Blood (Percy Jackson series by Rick Riordan):
This is one camp that I'm really glad I don't have to go to. I have no desire to be a demigod, but I love reading about them :)

Here are the books I've read during summer and think are good summer reads:

1. Beauty Queens by Libba Bray:
This book had me literally L-O-Ling the whole time. I would even read sections of it to my family members because it made me laugh so hard I thought they should hear it.

2. Forgive My Fins by Terra Lynn Childs:
This book is so adorable! And pretty much the only mermaid book that I've ever read that I actually liked.

3. The Ghost and the Goth by Stacey Kade:
What's not to love about this book? And I always connect this book with summer because I read it for the first time in summer.

4. Clarity by Kim Harrington:
This book takes place in summer and is soooooo good. Definitely a great beach read.

5. Just One Wish by Jannett Rallison:
All of Janette's books are really good summer beach reads but I had to pick just one and this is my favorite of hers so this is the one I went with.

6. Hunting Lila by Sarah Alderson:
Ah! Everyone should read this book!

7. Paper Towns by John Green:
John Green is brilliant. For realz. I picked PT because part of it takes place in the summer. Plus TFIOS will make you bawl your eyes out and who wants to cry at the beach?

8. Amy and Roger's Epic Detour by Morgan Matson:
Road trip + super adorable boys + great music playlists = awesome

9. Lola and the Boy Next Door by Stephanie Perkins:
Oh Cricket, how I adore you.

10. Saving June by Hannah Harrington:
This one I haven't read, but it's on my TBR list for this summer.

Top Ten Tuesday- favorite non book related sites

This weeks topic is my favorite blogs/sites that are not book related. I don't think I have 10 sites I go to that aren't book related sadly. I do not spend a lot of time online when it's not book/facebook related.


1. Facebook:
This is a big 'no duh' but still. I spend a lot of time on here. More than I should

2. IMDB.com
This site is so handy. I'm one of those type of people when I'm watching a tv show or movie and I recognize an actor but can't place where else I've seen them, I have to look it up and know otherwise it will keep bugging me. IMDB is great for that.

3. Hyperbole and a Half:
This blog is so freaking funny! Allie is hysterical and when I first read the post she did about moving to Oregon and how her dogs acted, I was laughing so hard I had tears streaming down my face and a stitch in my side. My parents thought I was going crazy. Good times.

4. Cute Overload:
This site is exactly what the name says it is. Adorable pictures/videos of animals. How can you not love it?

5. 1,000 Awesome Things:
A while back, a guy decided that every day for a thousand days, he was going to post about little things that make you smile and are all around awesome. He's recently finished and there are two books out for it as well. The things this guy comes up with are great. Just go and read the list of things he's posted about and laugh.

6. Youtube:
I'm a huge Youtube junkie. I love love love following vloggers. My favorites being John and Hank Green (Vlogbrothers), Charlie McDonnell (Charlieissocoollike), Dan Howell (Danisnotonfire), and Phil Lester (AmazingPhil). I've pretty much watched all their videos...multiple times... and get excited when any of them post new videos. Oh! And I love John and Hank's new videos, CrashCourse in which John teaches you about world history and Hank about science. I've learned more from them than I have in all my years I spent in school. Sad really.

7. Google:
Come on, you know you love it too and probably didn't think to count this as a site, but it is. This site is so cool that it has now become a noun, a verb, an adjective,  and all those other lovely English grammar words.

8. Hotmail:
Yup, I'm putting down my email provider has a favorite site. I check my email non stop.

9. Etsy:
I think this is by far one of the coolest sites ever. You can pretty much find anything you want on it. I personally love searching Harry Potter, Doctor Who, Hunger Games, and Mortal Instruments on that site and seeing all the super cool and nerdy fan stuff people have created. It's amazing.

10. Snorgtees:
This site has the coolest shirts ever! So many nerdy shirts! I pretty much want them all. I'm a screen Tee junkie. It's fun to go on there and see if you understand all the references the shirts are making. Like all the Doctor Who ones! Yeah!

Top Ten Tuesday-- Books I'd like to see made into a movie

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by the ladies over at The Broke and the Bookish

I feel like this topic as already been done before, but that is okay. Some of these are already either going to be turned into a movie or tv show, but I am so excited for them that I had to list them.

These are in no particular order.

1. Lola and the Boy Next Door by Stephanie Perkins:
I know that everyone has been talking about how much they want Anna turned into a movie, but if I had to pick, I think I'd want Lola more. I looooovvvvvveeeedddd the characters in this book. Both Lola and Cricket were so adorable and how can you forget Lola's dads? They were great. Oh plus Anna and St.Clair are still in it. Best of  both worlds.

2. Paper Towns by John Green:
I was originally going to be TFIOS but I don't trust film makers to give that book justice. I think however, that they could do justice for PT. I know that this has already sold movie rights and that John has written the first screen play for it, so why isn't it being made?!?!?!

3. The Iron King by Julie Kagawa:
This one does not need an explanation.

4. Divergent by Veronica Roth:
AHHH!!! I can not wait until this movie gets moved forward. 2015 is the last I heard about it. I can't wait to see who they pick for Four. Veronica was vague enough about his looks in the book that hopefully there won't be a huge fight over who plays him.

5. Paranormalcy by Kiersten White:
Haha Evie in the real life! That would be amazing. And Lend *sigh* oh this movie so needs to be made.

6. If I Stay by Gayle Forman:
This was such a beautiful book and with all the flashbacks it could be really cool. It would have to have a very talented director. I  could see this being more of a independent movie.

7. The Body Finder by Kimberly Derting:
Please oh please turn this into a movie!

8. My Unfair (/Fair) Godmother by Janette Rallison:
All of Janette's books would make fantastic made for tv movies. Like on abc family or a channel like that. They are so cute and would be really fun to see made.

9. Clarity by Kim Harrington:
If you've ever read this book, you get this.

10. Nevermore by Kelly Creagh:
This one is dark and beautiful. If they didn't over do the goth or the cheerleader, this could be a fantastic movie.

Books that are already being turned into movies that I'm way excited about:

Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead:
It's going to be awesome seeing Rose in action.

The Hollows by Kim Harrison:
This is going to be a tv show and it's gonna be great. I can't wait to see the Vampiric Charms group in action. I'm also insanely nervous about this. Like practically scared about them messing it up.

Top Ten Tuesday--- New blogger tips

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by the girls over at The Broke and the Bookish

This weeks TTT is 10 tips for new bloggers. Here are some things I have figured out in the last two years of blogging that I think are handy to know.

1. Make your blog layout stand out:
When I first started blogging, I had found some other bloggers pages and I adored their layouts and it was those blogs I was more likely to remember and visit more often. I picked up different things I liked about their blogs and I added it to mine. I get a lot of compliments on my Harry Potter/Twilight themed blog and have even had people tell me they follow the blog because of that.

I like to use The Cutest Blog on the Block. This site is amazing. It has fantastic layouts, it has lots of "how to" with great instructions as well. This site has saved me loads of time.

2. Don't worry about follower numbers:
Follower numbers really are not a huge deal. I know it feels like that when you first start blogging, but it's just not true. I see lots of blogs that have huge follower numbers but when I view their page and all their posts, they don't really have any comments on any of them. It's better to have smaller follower numbers and actual followers than to just have the higher numbers.

3. If you do worry about follower numbers, host a giveaway during a "hop":
If you just can't get over  the lower numbers and think that having a few more followers will boost your confidence, then find a giveaway hop, and host a giveaway and make sure to say it's a "followers only" giveaway. This will get you lots of followers really fast.

I am a reader, not a writer is a good place to find giveaway hops.

4. Comment, Comment, Comment:
This can not be said enough. Become a really good follower to other people, and they hopefully will become one to you.

5. Find weekly memes and participate:
Finding weekly memes to participate in has gotten me new followers, are really fun, and if they are small enough, they become a sort of community. That's my favorite part honestly.
The two memes I love are this one (TTT) and also My Book Boyfriend hosted by Missie over at The Unread Reader.

6. Make your blog your own:
Don't be afraid to say how you really feel on your blog. Do not think that your reviews always need to be really nice or the other way around. Say how you really feel because the readers will be able to tell when you are lying. Don't be afraid to post about other things every once and a while either.

7. Find a few book friends and have fun:
It can be very easy to get into a big book blogging slump. A good way to avoid this is by getting a few friends that can swap books with you, talk about books with you, go to signings with you. All that. It's loads of fun and will keep you wanting to blog.

8. Make your blog easy to navigate:
Make it as easy as possible for your followers to navigate around your blog. Make a page for your reviews and organize them, make sure to tag all your posts, don't clutter the blog, that sort of thing. The easier your blog is to view, the more likely people will stick around and view it. I know I've stopped going to a few blogs because they were so cluttered I couldn't find anything and I didnt' want to have to spend 30 minutes searching.

9. Create a Goodreads account:
This isn't really a blogging tip, it's just a good booker tip. This site is all kinds of amazing. It keeps you updated with authors, it helps organize your books, gives you recommendations, good place to find an overall rating of a book...ect. This site is a book bloggers dream. Seriously.

10. Use your local library:
You will find that being a book blogger is all kinds of expensive. You will be finding more books you want to read (make sure you keep a list of books you want with you at all times, just fyi) and will probably tell yourself at least once "well, I need this book so I can talk about it on my blog..." and that can add up really fast. This is why I say use your local library. Most likely they carry more books than you think and it will save you lots and lots of money. Do not forget about it!

This weeks topic is Ten books to read in a day. I'm going to clarify that and say to read each of these books in one day.

These are actually a list of the books I've recently read in one sitting. I was hoping to get some new titles on a TTT list because it always seems that the same 20 or so books are always on the list.

1. Clarity/Perception by Kim Harrington:
I adore these books and really hope that there will be a third because I can think of the perfect story line for it. These books are a lot of fun mixed in with suspense and a little paranormal.

2. The Queen's Lady by Eve Edwards:
Both The Other Countess and The Queen's Lady  were really fast reads for me. I love reading books that take place in the Tudor time period. These two did not disappoint at all.

3. Amy and Roger's Epic Detour by Morgan Matson:
Ah! I can not even say how much I adore this book. So freaking good.

4. Incarnate by Jodi Meadows:
This is by far my favorite reincarnation story. It was beautiful and interesting.

5. The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight by Jennifer E. Smith:
It's about an American girl who meets a very cute British boy while on an airplane. What's not to love about that?

6. Beautiful Disaster by Jamie McGuire:
This is a book I'm going to be rereading sometime soon because I forgot to write a review for it before. Plus I loved it and want to reread it.

7. The Fault In Our Stars by John Green:
I don't think it's possible to put this book down once you pick it up. You have to read until the end. And then you'll be crying really hard and will have that happy sad feeling for a while.

8. Unwind by Neal Shusterman:
Another book that will be impossible to put down once you start. You just have to know what happens next.

9. Anna Dressed in Blood by Kendare Blake:
This book was just that good. But you really need to have the right setting for it. Read it in the dark on a rainy night. I also read it while we were having a major storm. It was perfect!

10. Enclave by Ann Aguirre:
This was just a cool book.

Top Ten Tuesday-- Spring TBR books

I really can't believe today is the first day of spring. Oregon seems to be loving the snow this year and we are still getting random snow. WTF? It's throwing me all off. Weather is crazy.

Because it's the first day of spring, this weeks top ten is books on my spring TBR list. These are sort of in order. I'm mostly going by release date.

1. Perception by Kim Harrington (Released March 1st):
I read Clarity last year and loved loved loved it and now I'm dying to get my hands on this book. Just waiting for it to make it's way around the book swap group I'm in.

2. SpellBound by Rachel Hawkins (Released March 13th):
Ahhh!!! I'm in love with this series and can't believe I haven't been able to read this yet. Nowhere in my city is selling this book so I'm waiting for my turn at the library. Ughhhh.

3. This Side of the Grave/One Grave at a Time by Jeaniene Frost:
I can't believe I've fallen behind in this series. I used to read these the day they came out, and now I'm two behind. The new book (Once Burned featuring the always awesome Vlad) comes out soon and I'm dying to read that, so I've got to read this first.

4. Taken At Dusk by CC Hunter (Released April 10th):
aksodgnasidgknadso! I'm so so so so so excited for this! I need to know what in the world kylie is!

5. The Immortal Rules by Julie Kagawa (Released April 24th):
Julie Kagawa is easily one of my all time favorite authors. The Iron Fey is a series I read all the time. I can't wait to meet new characters of Julie's.

6. Shine by Jeri Smith-Ready (Released May 1st):
The third and final book in this series! I have to know what happens! Plus then I get to read more about Zach ;) Go Team Kilt!

7. City of Lost Souls by Cassandra Clare (Released May 8th):
Really, who isn't excited for this book?

8. Second Chance Summer by Morgan Matson (Released May 8th):
After reading Amy and Roger's Epic Detour, I'm now really excited for everything else Morgan Matson writes. Plus this one sounds really good.

9. Insurgant by Veronica Roth (Released May 28th):
I think waiting for this book has been harder than any other wait I've had lately. I'm currently listening to the Divergent audiobook for literally the 5th time in a year. Can't seem to get enough of Tris and Four.

10. Body and Soul by Stacey Kade (Released May 28th):
I really like this series. This is the 2nd series I'm reading about a goth boy and a cheerleader and I love it.

Top Ten Tuesday--Favorite Dystopian/Utopian books

This weeks top ten is favorite x genre. I'm picking dystopian/utopian books. These are in no particular order.

Dystopian

1. Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins:
Of course this series is on this list. Who doesn't love the Hunger Games? It's practically what started the whole dystopian craze that is happening right now.

2. Divergent by Veronica Roth:
Ah! There are no words that can describe how much I adore this book.

3. Wither by Lauren Destefano:
This series is so well done. It shows all the ugliness that happens in this world. All the kidnapping, killing, protesting, all of it. It's such an interesting world.

4. Unwind by Neal Shusterman:
Neal pretty much wrote dystopian books before dystopian was even a genre. Unwind came out before all the big dystopians such as Hunger Games. He writes this kind of fiction very well.

5. Enclave by Ann Aguire:
This one had some really cool elements to it. There is the clan life, the zombie like people, and then the whole earth has been destroyed thing. Adding them all together was really cool.

6. Ashes, Ashes, by Jo Treggiari:
I liked how this was more about natural disasters instead of man made disasters. That was pretty cool.

7. Gone by Michael Grant:
I wasn't really sure if I should put this is dystopian or Utopian. It's a little of both. This book grossed me out so bad. There was times I'd find I was closing my eyes cause I couldn't stand to "see" what happened next. Then I'd remember I was reading a book and not watching something, so I'd have to keep my eyes open. It was gross. My mind was too vivid.

Utopian
8. Unvieled by Trisha Wolfe:
This isn't really a book, and is also one of those that is a mix and kinda hard to place. It is a short story of only 35 pages, but it was awesome. The world was already set up and the characters as well. I heard she's making this a full of novel now. yay!

9. Incarnate by Jodi Meadows:
Oh man, I adore this book. This is one I'll probably be rereading in the near future. The world is so much fun to over analyze.

10. The Host by Stephenie Meyer:
Utopian or dystopian? Can't really tell. It's one of them. I loved the characters in this book. They are so much more... just more than the characters in Twilight.

Top Ten Tuesday--Favorite YA Book Covers

This weeks top ten is all about my favorite young adult book covers! I'm having these all be the American covers. They are in no particular order.

1. The Harry Potter series by JK Rowling:

I am madly in love with these covers. I love how they are painted and not done on photoshop or any other device. It's art in it's purest form.

2. Clockwork Angel by Cassandra Clare:

Look how pretty it is! With all its metalic colors, and the London background, and of course the cute guy on the cover.

3. Wither/Fever by Lauren DeStefano:

This series has the most gorgeous covers ever! I love love love love how you can tell this photoshoot was taken for this series and this series alone. It has so many elements from the book in it. So pretty.

4. Lola and the Boy Next Door by Stephanie Perkins:

I love the model they picked for Lola. She is perfect as Lola, with the big eyes and all that. Plus all the pastel colors are so pretty.

5. Hex Hall series by Rachel Hawkins:

I love how all the covers have the split personality look and how they are all the same design, but completely different.

6. The Iron Knight by Julie Kagawa:

When I first saw this cover, I just sat there and stared at it for a good 5 minutes straight. It's just so pretty, with all the blues and the hott guy on the cover.

7. Nightshade by Andrea Cremer:

This cover is gorgeous and the original cover for the second book was even more beautiful. Too bad they went and messed it all up with the new ugly covers.

8. Twilight by Stephenie Meyer:

I love the symbolism. Plus these are just classey covers.

9. Slice of Cherry by Dia Reeves:

Bloody tea cups? Awesome! It reminds me of the dark Alice In Wonderland art. I love this cover so much that I did a painting of it that is now hanging on my wall.

10. Rich and Mad by William Nicholson:

Making out in a phone booth? Love it!

This song would be perfect for Augustus while he was on the plane. Love it! Plus this song has the right feel for the book.

2. Rules of Attraction: "Cover Girl" by Big Time Rush:
This song is sooooooo perfect for this book. Actually, it would have really worked for TFIOS as well. All about how the girl is so beautiful and why doesn't she see it.

The name says it all.

4. The Night Huntress series: "Crazy Bitch" by BuckCherry:
hahahaha when I thought of this I just started laughing and laughing.

This song was mentioned in this book and it really does fit. It has the right vibe.

Oh geesh, this is hard to decide. I'd want to save them all!

1. Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire by JK Rowling:
This is my favorite of the Harry Potter books. And if I can only save ten books, I guess I'd have to take my favorite of them...or all of them...

2. Twilight by Stephenie Meyer:
This book never fails to make me happy while reading it and if aliens are coming for me, I'm gonna need something to make me happy.

3. Pale Demon by Kim Harrison:
Looooooovvvvvvvveeeeeeeeeeeee this book!

4. Percy Jackson and the Battle of the Laberinth by Rick Riordan:
Also my favorite in that series.

5. The Fault In Our Stars by John Green:
Have to have a John Green book with me.

6. Nevermore by Kelly Creagh
This book is just so fantastic. I'd need something dark and edgy to go along with everything else I have.

7. Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins:
Also got to have my super adorable books to go with the edgy one.

8. City of Glass by Cassandra Clare:
I'd need my Jace fix.

9. One Grave at a Time by Jeaniene Frost:
I feel like my list was lacking vampires. Well, non sparkling ones that is.

10. Wither by Lauren Destefano:
While looking at my shelves, this one kept popping out at me. So I'd probably grab that one too.

But I'd cheat and I'd grab all my Harry Potters, and all my Kim Harrisons, and all my Cassandra Clare books, or at least I'd also grab Clockwork Prince because that book is so dang good.

As usual, these are in no order. Just whatever popped into my head first.

1. The Fault In Our Stars by John Green:
To say this book broke my heart a little is a massive understatement. This book broke my heart so much that I still cry a little every time I talk about this book. Thoughthisisthebestbookever!

2. Allegiance by Cayla Kluver:
When I finished reading this book, I messaged Cayla on facebook and told her her book broke my heart, but I loved it anyways. She said she is sorry for breaking my heart. She is forgiven.

3. Forbidden by Tabitha Suzuma:
Lockie, what are you doing with that sheet...Lockie???? Wha....nooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

*sorry for that weird spoilery comment, but that was exactly that went through my head reading that part of the book. For those who have read this book, you get this. For those that haven't read the book, get on it.*

4. Clockwork Prince by Cassandra Clare:
This book breaks my heart because no matter if you are Team Will (go team will!) or Team Jem, it's a lose lose situation. Being team will or team jem was very hard for me to pick because they are both fantastic guys and no matter who Tessa ends up with, it's gonna suck.

5. The Art of Racing in the Rain by Garth Stein:
This book broke my heart but in such a good way. This book is brilliant. I mean, how many books are out there that are told from the point of the family dog??? And how the dog loved his owner so much that all he wants is when he dies, he wants to be reincarnated into a man so he can one day meet his owner and shake his hand. Oh my, that gets me all teary eyed just typing that.

6. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows by JK Rowling:
So.Many.Deaths.

7. Unwind by Neal Shusterman:
This book breaks my heart just to think about how anyone could ever think it is okay to "unwind" a child. How could you possibly give up your child like that? How could you be the doctors who take a kid apart piece by piece like that while the child is still alive and healthy? Gah!!!!!!!

8. Where the Red Fern Grows by Wilson Rawls:
If this book did not make you cry or break your heart a little, I suggest you meet up with the Tin Man and go see the Oz because you my friend, are heartless.

9. Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins:
I'm assuming by now that everyone has read this book. If not, don't read this section.

It breaks my heart just because Katniss never fully recovers from everything. Even in the epilogue she is just a shell of a person. Even being married and having kids doesn't seem to help her much.

10. Black Magic Sanction by Kim Harrison:
It's been a while since one of Kim's books was on a TTT of mine. She used to be on it every week. Thought she needed to come back.

BMS was particularly sad (even more sad than FAFDM) because of Maddie and Jenks. Poor poor Jenks. How do you get over the love of your life dying? It breaks my heart.
