My Book Boyfriend-- Oliver

My Book Boyfriend is a weekly meme hosted by Missie over at The Unread Reader. Each week you pick a boy from a book that makes you all warm and fuzzy and you post all about him.

This week I read The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight by Jennifer E. Smith and I met Oliver.
Isn't Oliver the cutest name on the face of the earth? I absolutely love it! Which adds onto my love I had for this character.

About Oliver:
*Grew up in England but goes to college in the States
*Didn't have a very good childhood
*"tall and lanky, with tousled hair and startling green eyes"
*Said hair is a dark color
*Helps old women and teenage girls in the airport (haha)
*Very sweet.

Who I picture him looking like:
Oliver is a younger Jim Sturgess to me!

That last picture just about kills me. I love the look on his face and how he's holding a random flower.
Quotes:
"She grabs Oliver's shirt tightly, afraid of being swept away from him. but his hand is pressing on her back as he kisses her, and the truth is, she's never felt so safe in her life. His lips are soft and taste salty from the pretzels they shared earlier, and she closes her eyes--just for a moment--and the rest of the world disappears."

“He’s like a song she can’t get out of her head. Hard as she tries, the melody of their meeting runs through her mind on an endless loop, each time as surprisingly sweet as the last, like a lullaby, like a hymn, and she doesn’t think she could ever get tired of hearing it."

“I can't believe you're here," she says, her voice soft. "I can't believe you found me."

"You found me first," he says, and when he leans to kiss her, it's slow and sweet and she knows that this will be the one she always remembers. Because while the other two kisses felt like endings, this one is unquestionably a beginning.”

“What are you really studying?"

He leans back to look at her. "The statistical probability of love at first sight."
"Very funny," she says. "What is it really?"
"I'm serious."
"I don't believe you."
He laughs, then lowers his mouth so that it's close to her ear. "People who meet in airports are seventy-two percent more likely too fall for each other than people who meet anywhere else.”

  3. We have the same book boyfriend this week! A young Jim Sturgess would be perfect as Oliver :)

  4. Is it weird that I have a sudden urge to go hang out at an airport? I mean seriously, 72% chance! Those are great odds. LOL

Jim Sturgess is a freaking cutie. I love his charming smile.

  9. AHH. One of my all time favorites of this year. This book hit a high score with me and the romance was unquestionably sweet and gooey and OH, JUST PERFECT.

    Have an amazing reading week!

  10. I just finished reading this book. It was cute... however, I think Hadley forgave her father way too easily. It wasn't really realistic. And TRUE LOVE is everlasting... it doesn't just go away because you see a new, pretty woman. I didn't like the line about having the guts to NOT stick around. I actually think it takes MORE GUTS to stay with the woman you love and committed to for life after you've met someone else you feel a connection to. It's almost too easy (if you have no morals or devotion) to just leave your wife for someone else. But honestly... how can Charlotte be so content? He left his wife for her... she should be worried that if he left his wife for her, he could just as easily leave her for a younger, prettier woman in the future. My cousin's boyfriend and father of her son left his wife to be with her and then after six years he left her for another woman. She was devastated but what do you expect? He's had a bad history of faithfulness so you shouldn't expect him to be faithful to you. So what do you rate this book?

I love getting comments! I'm always checking to see if I have any new comments. It's actually pretty sad how often I check for them really. So if there is anything you want to say about a post of mine, please say it! I want feedback :)

As of lately, I'm making the blog a no-award blog. I love getting them and I'm always honored, but I don't have the time to do all the things that are required of them. Sorry :(
Also, my "reply" button does not seem to be working in my comments on my computer. I have to use a different computer to reply back so if I don't reply, it's not because I'm rude, it's just that I can't.
