My Book Boyfriend-- Four

My book boyfriend is a weekly meme hosted by The Unread Reader in which you post about a boy in a book who is particularly swoon worthy.

This week I picked Four from Veronica Roth's Divergent.

About Four:
*Four is a nickname (obviously)
*Strong minded
*Trains the initiates
*He's a badass

Description:
"He has a spare upper lip and a full lower lip. His eyes are so deep-set that his eyelashes touch the skin under his eyebrows, and they are dark blue, a dreaming, sleeping, waiting color."

Who I picture him looking like:
Darren Criss popped into my head and now he's stuck there. I don't remember if he fits the description of Four, but I like picturing him as Four. Any excuse to picture Darren Criss is a good excuse.
Quotes (Sorry about this, but there will probably be some spoilers.)

"I might be in love with you." He smiles a little. "I'm waiting until I'm sure to tell you, though."

"You think my first instinct is to protect you. Because you're small, or a girl, or a Stiff. But you're wrong."

He leans his face close to mine and wraps his fingers around my chin. His hand smells like metal. When was the last time he held a gun, or a knife? My skin tingles at the point of contact, like he's transmitting electricity through his skin.
"My first instinct is to push you until you break, just to see how hard I have to press." he says, his fingers squeezing at the word break. My body tenses at the edge in his voice, so I am coiled as tight as a spring, and I forget to breathe.
His dark eyes lifting to mine, he adds, "But I resist it."
"Why..." I swallow hard. "Why is that your first instinct?"
"Fear doesn't shut you down; it wakes you up. I've seen it. It's fascinating." He releases me but doesn't pull away, his hand grazing my jaw, my neck. "Sometimes I just want to see it again. Want to see you awake."

"Who is he when he isn't Dauntless, isn't an instructor, isn't Four, isn't anything in particular?

Whoever he is, I like him. It's easier to admit that to myself now, in the dark, after all that just happened. He is not sweet or gentle or particularly kind. But he is smart and brave, and even though he saved me, he treated me like I was strong. That is all I need to know."

ARC Review: Queen Of the Dead

Queen of the Dead by Stacey Kade
Series: Ghost and the Goth #2
Published by Hyperion
Release date: May 31, 2011
Genre: Ya
288 pages

What it's about:
After being sent back from the light, Alona Dare - former homecoming queen, current Queen of the Dead - finds herself doing something she never expected: working. Instead of spending days perfecting her tan by the pool (her typical summer routine when she was, you know, alive), Alona must now cater to the needs of other lost spirits. By her side for all of this - ugh - “helping of others” is Will Killian: social outcast, seer of the dead, and someone Alona cares about more than she’d like.

Before Alona can make a final ruling on Will’s “friend” or “more” status, though, she discovers trouble at home. Her mom is tossing out Alona’s most valuable possessions, and her dad is expecting a new daughter with his wicked wife. Is it possible her family is already moving on? Hello! She’s only been dead for two months! Thankfully, Alona knows just the guy who can put a stop to this mess.

Unfortunately for Alona, Will has other stuff on his mind, and Mina, a young (and beautiful) seer, is at the top of the list. She’s the first ghost-talker Will’s ever met—aside from his father—and she may hold answers to Will’s troubled past. But can she be trusted? Alona immediately puts a check mark in the “clearly not” column. But Will is - ahem - willing to find out, even if it means leaving a hurt and angry Alona to her own devices, which is never a good idea.

Packed with romance, lovable characters, and a killer cliffhanger, Queen of the Dead is the out-of-this-world sequel to The Ghost and the Goth

My thoughts:
Ever since I finished reading The Ghost and the Goth last summer, I have been anxiously waiting for Queen of the Dead. I fell madly in love with the characters and couldn't wait to see what happens to them. The second book in the series did not disappoint.

What I love most about this book is the characters. I love how Alona is horribly bitchy and someone most people would hate to be around. Yet I love her. I love how honest and tough she is. She is a girl you do not want to mess with. I love how she can kick your ass without actually touching you. She grows so much in this book and I loved watching that unfold. This is the same for Will. Kade does a very good job of making Will a pretty realistic boy. The relationship is pretty interesting between Will and Alona. How does a goth boy and a ghost have a relationship? I love how Kade plays this one out.

There are new plot twists, characters, and past history in this book. Unanswered questions are being answered along with new questions being asked. For people like me who read GATG almost a year ago and may not remember all of the little details about what happened in it, Kade does a wonderful job of reminding the reader of what happened in the last book without dragging down this book with too much past reminders. She adds in just enough to get the readers mind working again and to remember what has already happened in the series. This is always an added bonus for me because I find myself needing the reminders without the story being dragged down.

I finished this book in two sittings. I had to know what happens! I can not think of any complains that I have for this book. It is a fantastic sequel to The Ghost and the Goth. Can't believe I'm going to have to wait for the next book! Gah!

My rating: 10/10

Hop and Follow Friday

Book Blogger Hop
Blogger Hop is hosted by Crazy for books

This weeks question:
What book to movie adaptation have you most liked? Which one have you disliked?

My answer:
Hands down, the worst book to movie adaptation is The Other Boylen Girl. That movie was god awful and nothing like the book at all. I think everyone walked out of that theater pissed off.
My favorite book to movie adaptations are the Harry Potter books and Percy Jackson. Mostly because those are the first ones that come to my head. The Twilights are okay too. Eclipse being the best cause it's mostly like the book. I did a top ten on this topic once somewhere...

Follow Friday is hosted by Parajunkee

This weeks question:
How many books do you read in a week? And in what format do you read them, or listen to them?

My answer:
Hmmm I'm averaging about 10-11 books a month now. Soo 2-3 books a week. Those are almost all bound copies or ebooks. I haven't been listening to many audiobooks lately because I'm not taking any art classes and that's when I do a lot of my audiobook listening.

Review: Divergent

Divergent by Veronica Roth
Published by Katherine Tegan Books
Genre: YA
$17.99 (US Hardback)
487 pages

What it's about:
In Beatrice Prior's dystopian Chicago, society is divided into five factions, each dedicated to the cultivation of a particular virtue--Candor (the honest), Abnegation (the selfless), Dauntless (the brave), Amity (the peaceful), and Erudite (the intelligent). On an appointed day of every year, all sixteen-year-olds must select the faction to which they will devote the rest of their lives. For Beatrice, the decision is between staying with her family and being who she really is--she can't have both. So she makes a choice that surprises everyone, including herself.
During the highly competitive initiation that follows, Beatrice renames herself Tris and struggles to determine who her friends really are--and where, exactly, a romance with a sometimes fascinating, sometimes infuriating boy fits into the life she's chosen. But Tris also has a secret, one she's kept hidden from everyone because she's been warned it can mean death. And as she discovers a growing conflict that threatens to unravel her seemingly perfect society, she also learns that her secret might help her save those she loves...or it might destroy her.

My thoughts:
When I saw that every person in the blogging world get all excited about this book, I decided to go check out what all the fuss was about. I completely understand now.

In Beatrice's world, your personality either is mostly based on honesty, bravery, intelligence, selflessness, or wanting peace. Beatrice grew up with the selfless. While I understand Beatrice's character and I liked her, I never fully connected to her. It's kind of the same way I feel about Katniss. I like her and root for her, but I will never fully understand her. She was always surprising me, always going beyond what I would expect someone to do. All the characters surprised me. I loved them all in very different ways. Roth does a great job of getting the reader to have a love/hate relationship with the world she has created and for the people in it. I really felt the connection and friendship between the people competing against each other and I felt and understood the anger, danger, and the need to be best. I just couldn't believe the characters had to do what they were put through. Holy crap!

That being said, I'm not saying much more in fear of giving away spoilers. I know it's annoying how everyone now compares dystopian books to Hunger Games, but I honestly felt like they were similar. If you like one, most likely you will like the other. I can not wait till the Veronica Roth signing next month and for the second book in this series to be released, whenever that will be. I have now added a new favorite author to my list.

My rating: 10/10
This is a book that I'm going to be pushing my family and friends into reading.

My Book Boyfriend-- Alexander from Bronze Horseman

My book boyfriend is a weekly meme in which you post about one of your favorite boys from a book you love. This was thought of and hosted by The Unread Reader

This weeks boyfriend is Alexander from the Bronze Horseman! This series does not get enough attention in the blogging world. It needs more love!

About Alexander:
*is American but moved to Russia when he was young
*Is a soldier in Russia during WWII
*travels all the way across Russia to be with the girl he loves
*Tall, muscular, brown hair

Who I picture him looking like:
Henry Cavill! He is the perfect Alexander!
Wow, I was kinda expecting there to be lots of shirtless Henry pictures on google. I had a hard time even finding one! What's up with that google?????

Alexander Quotes:
"Tatiana: "Why did we spend two days fighting when we could have been doing this?"

Alexander: "That wasn't fighting, Tatiasha. That was foreplay."

"I'm going to die with Alexander's hand on my face, Tatiana thought. That is not a bad way to die. I cannot move. I can't get up. Just can't. She closed her eyes and felt herself drifting. Through the haze in front of her she heard Alexander's voice. "Tatiana, I love you. Do you hear me? I love you like I've never loved anyone in my whole life. Now, get up. For me, Tatia. For me, please get up and go take care of your sister. Go on. And I'll take care of you."

"Tatiana said. "Go on with Dasha. She is right for you. She is a woman and I'm-" "Blind!", Alexander exclaimed. Tatiana stood, desolately failing in the battle of her heart. "Oh, Alexander. What do you want from me..."

"Everything", he whispered fiercely."

About Alexander:
"A bus came. The soldier turned away from her and walked toward it. Tatiana watched him. Even his walk was from another world; the step was too sure, the stride too long, yet somehow it all seemed right, looked right, felt right. It was like stumbling on a book you thought you had lost. Ah, yes, there it is."

Top ten tuesday-- Books I've lied about

Top ten tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. Each week they post a different topic and you write your top ten for whatever the topic is.
This weeks top ten is ten books you've lied about! It can either be books you lied about reading, not reading, or so on.

Because I'm an English lit major, I've gotten really good at faking my way through "reading" books for school. Most of my list is for that.

1. Six Characters in search of an author:
Has anyone had to read this for school before? It's horrible! I got through the first couple pages and had to give up. There was no way I was going to finish it.

2. Babbitt:
This is another one of those books that was just down right horrible but I was supposed to read it for my 1920's American Lit class. Didn't happen. I was able to fake my way through the discussions on it pretty easily though.

3. The Naughty List by Suzanne Young:
I absolutely adore Suzanne. I've met her multiple times, gone out to lunch and talked, but I just couldn't finish this book. It was a little too peppy for me. I hope to finish it some day...

4. About half the stuff I was supposed to read for British Lit last term:
Yup, I didn't read most of it and still passed the class. Turns out that really old British literature is really boring.

5. The Tempest by Shakespeare:
I don't hate this book as much as I let on. It's actually just the really horrible 70's movies that were made of it that I dislike. Ariel is always wandering around in gold paint, glitter, and a spedo. It's just hard seeing someone with my name dressed like that.

6. Bleeding Violet by Dia Reeves:
I've been in the middle of this book for about 6 months now and just can't seem to finish it. I really want to like it and I keep telling myself I do, but I really don't.

That's all that I can think of at the moment. I'm pretty honest when it comes to my books for the most part. Well, unless it comes to reading for school but what english major doesn't lie about that?

This weeks question:
It's circle time. Time for us to open up and share. Can you tell us FIVE quirky habits or things about you? We all have them...

Ummm five things about me...
1. I'm learning American Sign Language in college right now and I love it! I've picked up the habit of signing while I talk or sing. It's weird.
2. I put ducky sticky pad things on my shower floor because it makes me think of that episode of Big Bang Theory where Sheldon has to help Penny get to the ER after falling in her shower. It makes me giggle every time.
3. My sister and I are learning the dance to "Hot Stuff" from Just Dance 2 and we are going to perform it at her wedding. Yeah, we're cool.
4. I'm trying to talk my parents into taking me to NY so I can see Daniel Radcliffe in his Broadway play.
5. If you go to Urbandictionary, and look up "Sparklemob" I'm a member of that group..... yeah, me and a few people went a little nuts on the bellaandedward forums.
Shout out to my Sparklemob girls! haha.

Speaking of Daniel Radcliffe, did anyone else watch him perform that song about Brotherhood on the Late Show with David Letterman tonight? I did! I fell in love with him even more after watching him sing and dance. Didn't think it was possible to love him more. Just Sayin'

This weeks question:
"If you were given the chance to spend one day in a fictional world (from a book), which book would it be from and what would that place be?"

My answer:
I swear I've answered this question before. Anyways, I'd be a WITCH in the Harry Potter world AFTER Voldie has gone moldy. No silly muggle business for me. I'd also be over in the UK and not in America. I would be over at Hogwarts!

My Book Boyfriend-- Zachary from Shade

My book boyfriend is a weekly post about our favorite boys in books. Thanks to the awesome Unread Reader for hosting this!

I've really been in a Shade/Shift mood lately. So I decided to post about my favorite Scottish book boyfriend Zachary!

About Zachary
*Tall, and lean
*messy dark hair
*Scottish!!!!! So he has a sexy accent
*has piercing green eyes
*Last person born before the shift
*Can't see ghosts and repels them
*drives a hunter green mini cooper
*did I mention he's Scottish?
*Seriously, Scottish accent and everything. haha
*is pretty smart
*Wore a kilt to prom

Who I pick to play him:
Tom Sturridge! Oh Tom. He's Robert Pattinson's best friend, so you can only imagine how amazing it would be to hang out with those two. Tom was Young Carl in Pirate Radio, and if you haven't seen that movie, go out and get it now! It's one of my all time favorite movies.

Quotes:
"Where's your kilt?"

"How about this," he said in a low voice. "You don't ask me about haggis and bagpipes, and I won't ask you about garlic and Goodfellas."

"I suppressed another shiver - I did not want Zachary taking off any more clothes on my account."

"Exactly," He tucked a lock of hair behind my ear. "Sometimes we help ourselves, and sometimes we get help from ghosts in the woods and bampots in BMWs."

"Don't say that. If he knew your mum was pregnant--which he might not--he didn't walk out on you, he walked out on the idea of you--no, on the idea of a nameless, faceless baby. If he knew you, he'd want you in his life." His voice cracked as it fell. "Anyone would."... He dropped his gaze to his hands as he rubbed his knuckles together nervously. "I'm no' sayin that because I want to kiss you. It's just true,"

Top ten tuesday-- Minor characters

Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by The Broke and the Bookish

This weeks topic is Top Ten Favorite Minor characters.

Hmmm what is a "minor" character? Is it any character that is not the "voice" or can it be someone else that is in a duo that isn't the voice? Anyways, I'm mostly going with the best friend characters cause I love them so.

1. Megan from Shade/Shift by Jeri Smith Ready:
I just finished reading Shift and I always loved Aura's best girlfriend, Megan. She cracks me up. She is such a small character yet is there for a lot of the big things that happen in Aura's life. She's a great best friend.

2. Vlad from the Night Huntress series by Jeaniene Frost:
I'm super excited that he is getting his own book!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He is so much fun. Love him.

3. Christina from Divergent by Veronica Roth:
I love how blunt she is, or should I say "honest." She is also tough, spunky, and just fun. Love her.

4. Willa from Forbidden by Tabitha Suzuma:
What she says at the end just wow'd me. I couldn't get over it. I love how kids actually see the world without getting bogged down in it.

5. Ash from Strange Angels by Lili St.Crow:
I can't wait to get to know more about this character. Common the last book!!! I need to know what happens!

6. Finnick from Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins:
Yup, I'm counting him as a minor character. He was honestly my favorite character (well maybe besides from Peeta). I think I cried the most when he died (spoiler if you are the random person who hasn't read this series yet. Yes Arwen, I mean you ;) ). It was shocking and I had to reread it about 6 times to believe it. I'm still mad about it.

7. Chrissy from My Fair Godmother by Janette Rallison:
Hahaha she cracks me up. She gets everything soooooo wrong.

8. Grim from the Iron Fey series by Julie Kagawa:
He makes me giggle. He is so serious and cuddly all at once.
9. The sister wives from Wither by Lauren Destefano:
I couldn't decide on just one or the other. I loved the relationship that the three of them have.

10. Ben from Paper Towns by John Green:
hahahah "I have to pee" hahahahha. I won't lie, I'm that person on car trips too.

It took all my will power to not list a Kim Harrison character this week. Haha I thought I'd give it a break, try and think of some other characters...

Review: Shift

Shift by Jeri Smith-Ready
Published by Simon Pulse
Series: Shade #2
Genre: YA paranormal
$17.99 (US hardback)
320 pages

What it's about:
Aura’s life is anything but easy. Her boyfriend, Logan, died, and his slides between ghost and shade have left her reeling. Aura knows he needs her now more than ever. She loves Logan, but she can’t deny her connection with the totally supportive, totally gorgeous Zachary. And she’s not sure that she wants to.

Logan and Zachary will fight to be the one by her side, but Aura needs them both to uncover the mystery of her past—the mystery of the Shift.

As Aura’s search uncovers new truths, she must decide whom to trust with her secrets…and her heart.

My thoughts:
I've been waiting for this book since September when I finished reading Shade. This was a series I just clicked with. Is it because there are two incredibly gorgeous guys in it? One a rocker and the other Scottish? My two favorite types of boys? Maybe. But it's also that it has a great plot, characters to love, and story twists that keep me guessing.

While I normally don't care for love triangles much, this is one I really like because it is so different. It's not really about which boy to choose because there is really only one option, but it's about how to get past all the hurts of a first lost love and how to love again. How to move on. I can't imagine everything Aura goes through. To not only loose your first love, but to have that love be your childhood best friend. I don't know how someone gets over that, but to be able to see they ghost, to know they haven't moved on would be the worst. While it would be interesting to be in the minds of the three main characters, I'm glad it's not. I like being in only Aura's head otherwise it would be too overwhelming. I like figuring things out when she does, to go through this big mess with her.

I couldn't help but love both boys, Logan and Zachary, in this book. Logan does annoy me at times, just because he is such a diva, but I understand him completely. I cried so hard in Shade both when he died and at his funeral. This book did have my emotions all over the place because of him and Zach.

You know an odd little detail I love about this book? That Jeri mentions how Aura wears contacts, and how she has to take them out at night, and right before she goes swimming, she has to worry about not losing her contacts while going under the water. This is something that is very small, but I like how it is added in because I always think of little things like that. If it's mentioned that a character wears something like glasses or contacts, I always think, when do they take care of all this? And I know when I go swimming with contacts in, I worry about losing them. It's those little added details that make a character more believable because real people do think about those kinds of things.

I can not wait till next summer when the third and final book comes out in this series!!!!

My rating: 10/10

It feels like most of my books get this rating lately, but that's only because I'm about 15 reviews behind and only posting the ones I loved the most. Just sayin'

Book shopping spree

Oh boy, I've gone a little book shopping crazy in the last two days.

Today is my 22nd birthday and I decided to treat myself to some books. Because I'm a Borders plus member, I get free shipping on all my books. Now that Borders partnered up with people for selling used books, they are REALLY CHEAP. I went a little nuts with the books I bought. Here is what I ordered:

*One Good Dog by Susan Wilson (for my mom)
*Choker by Elizabeth Woods
*Crescendo by Becca Fitzpatrick
*bad Girls Don't Die by Katie Alender
*Impossible by Nancy Werlin
*Girl, Stolen by April Henry
*Darklight by Lesley Livingston
*Darkness Becomes Her by Kelly Keaton
*The Empress' New Clothes by Jaid Black
*My Fair Godmother by Janette Rallison
*Just One Wish by Janette Rallison
*Shade by Jeri Smith-Ready
*Sisters Red by Jackson Pearce
*Eternal Kiss of Darkness by Jeaniene Frost (for my sister)
*Last Drop of Crimson by Jeaniene Frost (for sister)
*Clockwork Angel by Cassandra Clare (for sister)

And then the movie Pirate Radio. That movie is the best.

A few of these books I've already read, but I had either got them from the library or borrowed them from a friend. I wanted my own copies though. Best part of all this? It was only $70 and 8 of those books are hardback too. Oh how I love Borders!!!!

My mailman is going to be super annoyed at all the packages he's gonna have to deliver. Sorry mailman!

Top Ten Tuesday-- Asshats in books

Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by the awesome people over at The Broke and the Bookish

Lol! I love the term "asshat" and I'm glad that I'm not the only one who uses this term. I'm gonna go with jerks in books rather than "villains." These are in no order.

1. Snape from Harry Potter:
Uhhh yeah... Snape is awesome.

2. The mom from Forbidden by Tabitha Suzuma:
I wanted to kill her through the whole book. Stupid drunken gross neglectful *goes on for about another 20 words* mother. Ughhhhhhhhh

3. Al from the Hollows:
hahahah if you've read this series, you know what I mean. (Yes, a Kim Harrison character has to be on every single one of my lists. It's like an unwritten rule).

4. Will from Clockwork Angel by Cassandra Clare:
When I went to the Cassie Clare signing, I was the only person to be Team Will with the first 40 people. I thought that was odd. I adore this jerk. I adore both of Cassie's leading men even if they are jerks.

5. The Grandparents from The Art of Racing in the Rain by Garth Stein:
These people were sooooooo frustrating! I wanted to slap them the whole time. Ughhh

6. Archer from Hex Hall by Rachel Hawkins:
I don't know why I love the bad boys and the jerks so much in books when I hate them so much in real life. But I am definitely Team Archer.

7. Rowan from the Iron Fey series by Julie Kagawa:
He kills one brother, tries to kill the other, tries to take over all of the Nevernever, oh, and gives Megan food that makes her say everything out loud. Bad Rowan, Bad!

8. Erlking from Shadowspell by Jenna Black:
I can't wait to see what happens in the next book in this series just because I'm fascinated by the Erlking. He's a human hunter who either hunts people down and kills them or tricks them into joining his group, where they will forever live without talking and doing his bidding. Yikes...

9. Nick from the Demon's Lexicon by Sarah Rees Brennan:
I love how he doesn't understand any human emotions what so ever, yet he does everything to save his brother. He's one of those characters that is fascinating to see them learn and grow and change through the whole book.

10. Haymitch from the Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins:
I think I can honestly say that this is the only drunk in a series that I actually like. Sure he's a jerk, but living his life I honestly don't blame him. Plus, he needs to be in order to help keep Peeta and Katniss alive, which is his job anyways.

11. Captain Hook from Peter Pan:
Have to add him. All he wants is to be loved! Yet all he is is old and alone and donefore. Sadness.
Next weeks top ten is Minor characters you love.

Review: Forbidden

Forbidden by Tabitha Suzuma
Published by Simon Pulse
Released date: Rereleased June 28, 2011
Genre: YA
Pages: 464

What it's about:
Seventeen-year-old Lochan and sixteen-year-old Maya have always felt more like friends than siblings. Together they have stepped in for their alcoholic, wayward mother to take care of their three younger siblings. As defacto parents to the little ones, Lochan and Maya have had to grow up fast. And the stress of their lives--and the way they understand each other so completely--has also also brought them closer than two siblings would ordinarily be. So close, in fact, that they have fallen in love. Their clandestine romance quickly blooms into deep, desperate love. They know their relationship is wrong and cannot possibly continue. And yet, they cannot stop what feels so incredibly right. As the novel careens toward an explosive and shocking finale, only one thing is certain: a love this devastating has no happy ending.

My thoughts:
This is not a book for the light of heart (or the younger readers out there).

Yes, this book is about incest. Now before you freak out too much, don't. Yes it is gross but this book is so amazing that it is worth getting over the ick factor and just read it. Once you read it, most likely you will forget that they are even related and get completely sucked into the story. After the first few pages, I felt immediately compelled to sit there and finish the book as fast as I could. The second I finished reading it, I had to text my friends and tell them how amazing it was. Then I signed on here and now I'm writing this. Yes, it's that good.

By having every chapter switch between Maya and Lochan's POV, it made the story really strong. If it would have  only been from one of their POV, it would not have been nearly as good. By being in both of their heads, it was easier to understand their situation, to understand why they have the feelings they do for each other. Their mother is an absent mother, leaving Lochan and Maya to play the roles of parents and take care of their three younger siblings even though they are only teens themselves. Honestly, I was rooting for these two to be able to be together. They have such a horrible life and deserved some happiness.

I won't be forgetting this book anytime soon. It made me cry an abnormal amount for a book and was very powerful.

Rating: 10/10

Book blog hop and follow

Follow Friday is hosted by Parajunkee

This weeks question:
Circle time! Time to share. What character in a book would you most like to be, what character in a book would you most like to date?

My answer:
Hmmm.... well.... I'm going to go with Wendy from Peter Pan cause she gets to go to Neverland. All she had was some crazy pirates after her. Most of the characters in my books have horrible lives and I'd never want to be them. Though I would love to have some magic from Harry Potter....

Book Blogger Hop
Book Blog Hop is hosted by Crazy for books

This weeks question:
"Which book blogger would you most like to meet in real life?"

My Answer:
I honestly don't know many book bloggers well enough to meet them in "real life." I have a few friends that got me addicted to blogging in the first place, but other than that, I don't really know anyone. I think it would be fun to meet a bunch of book bloggers though in a big group and talk about blogging and books and what not.

My Movie Cast: The Hollows

Last night I spent a great deal of time trying to figure out who I would want to play  Trent Kalamack if they ever did a Hollows movie by Kim Harrison. It got me thinking about who else I would want to play in the movie. So here is my list.

Rachelle Lefevre as Rachel

Who else just fell madly in love with her in Twilight and New Moon? I think she'd be a great Rachel. She has the hair already, can do the kick ass thing, yet you just love her. Emma Stone seems to be another popular choice. I also wouldn't complain if she was picked to play Rachel.

Ivy played by Olivia Munn
I honestly don't know who this actress is,  but I think that she has about the right looks to play Ivy. Has some asian in her with the heart shaped face

Trent Kalamack played by Trevor Donovan

*swoon* I love googling pictures of this guy. Haha.

Al played by Jason Isaacs

Johnny Depp is another really popular choice for this role. I wouldn't mind that either. Jason is so good at playing bad guys though. Love him.

Jenks played by Kellan Lutz

You need someone adorable, curly blonde hair, young, and cocky. That spells Kellan Lutz to me.

Ceri played by Dianna Agron

She just fits. Her or AJ Cook.

Kisten played by Matt Bomer

Glenn played by Boris Kodjoe

Minias played by Bill Hader

Nick played by Joseph Gordon Levitt

Newt played by Tilda Swinton

Alice Morgan played by Catherine Keener

Vivian played by Kristen Bell

My Book Boyfriend-- Trent Kalamack

My Book Boyfriend is a weekly meme hosted by the awesome Missie at The Unread Reader. Each week, you post about a guy in a book that you just can't help but swoon over.

This week I decided to pick Trent Kalamack from the Hollows series by Kim Harrison. I have a real sweet spot for all of the boys in the Hollows series. There has always just been something about Trent that I just adore though.

About Trent:
*Comes from a wealthy family
*Is a senitor who is running for govenor for Cinci
*Hair very fine, pale blonde hair
*is an elf (sorry, this is a small spoiler for the first book if you havent' read it)
*Has a very fit body
*Is a drug lord
*over all, kind of an unpleasant man
*have to know him really well to actually like him.
*Fantastic kisser

These are not very good discriptions of him, but he's honestly amazing. You just have to read the books to fully understand him.

I have a very very very very clear image of how I view Trent and it was hard to find someone that I thought could play him in a movie. I finally found two people who could possibly pull it off

Trevor Donovan:

OR
Chris Pine

I'm leaning more towards Trevor :)

Quotes:
Trent says to Rachel:
"That's why I want you there, he said. You're unpredictable, and that can be the difference between success and failure. Most people make decisions in anger, fear, love, or obligation. You make decisions to irritate people." (FAFDM)

"He sighed. "You want to live in your church, going about your life as if you're like everyone else."

"So?"
"You aren't. And because of that, someday you're probably going to find yourself in a position where your choices will have an impact far beyond what you see right now. And when that happens, I want you to remember what it's like to ride through the woods on horseback under a night sky with no moon and nothing stronger than you are. I want you to know so you will fight for it. So that my children will know of it. You have to keep the demons where they are, Rachel. No one else can do it. You won't fight for us unless you know. Let me show you what you're fighting for." (BMS)

"I pressed into him, my hands feeling his outline, his stubble rough against me as our breaths found a rhythm both slow and building. Memories flitted through me, of him in that silly hat as he held me while I died. His white face when he realized he'd summoned Ku'Sox to kill the pixies and I'd already taken care of the problem. His fear in Carew Tower's elevator when it opened and he saw me standing there with Al. His terror at camp as he leaned over me and begged me to breathe after I'd knocked the air out of myself and he thought I was dying." (PD)

Top Ten Tuesday

Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. It is a weekly meme for people who love lists.

This weeks topic is Top Ten Books I'm glad were recommended to me.
These are in no order.

1. Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins:
AHHH!!!!!! I don't know if I could love this book anymore. Everyone in the blogging world was raving about how amazing this book is and I went out and bought it, read it in a night, and love it!!!

2. The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins:
My friend told me about this series, then gave me the books and said "read."

3. Fablehaven by Brandon Mull:
My sister told me to read this series. This series had me thinking and backrealing the whole time.

4. Percy Jackson series by Rick Riordan:
This is another series my sister had me read. I love how utterly bizarre and cheesey this series is. And I'm SUPER EXCITED that they are making the second MOVIE.

5. Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater:
This is one that went through my book group of friends. Passed on from one to the other with the orders to read it, love it, pass it on.

6. Paranormalcy by Kiersten White:
This is one of my all time favorite  books. It was one that went around all the blogging would and I HAD to have it. Glad I did. I love it so much, I talked my mom into letting me paint the taser she bought today pink and we are going to call it tasey. Awesome.

7. Harry Potter by JK Rowling:
Right before Goblet of Fire came out, my mom bought the first three books and told me I had to read them (I used to be homeschooled and mom picked out my books). Haha bet she didn't expect them to become a life long obsession for me.

8. Twilight by Stephenie Meyer:
This is another book my sister had me read. She nagged at me till I finally caved and read them.

Okay, well this is all I could really think of at the moment. I'm sure there are more, but these are the ones that stick out the most.
