Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by the awesome people over at The Broke and the Bookish
This weeks top ten is: Top ten covers I'd like to redesign.

1. All the covers for the Vampire Academy books.
All these covers are so incredibly ugly. The girl on each cover is supposed to be Rose and she doesn't look anything the same on any of them and doesn't even look like Rose. Also, that Dimitri/Christian guy in this picture is wearing a pearl necklace. WTF??? Richelle, start demanding better covers!! All your covers suck!

2. Looking for Alaska by John Green
Could this cover be any more ugly? Seriously? A freaking candle being blown out? Granted I get the symbolisim there, but it's still boring. This book is too good to not have an amazing cover.

3. The Darkest Powers series by Kelley Armstrong
All of these books have practically the same cover and I don't like any of them. No reason, I just don't.

4. The Naughty List by Suzanne Young
Sorry Suzanne, you got screwed over when it came to these covers.

5. Catcher in the Rye:
For one of the best books out there, it has some seriously stupid covers.

6. All of Agatha Christie's books:
Her books are amazing and had really ugly covers for the first couple editions. Now they are finally going through and giving them better covers.

7. Fame, Glory, and other things on my to do list by Janette Rallison:
This one doesn't even need explaining.

8. Wuthering Heights:
I could rant for hours about how much I hated this book. Then they have to go and make THIS cover. Seriously? Why are you trying to trick all those twilight fans into reading this crap? They had to go and make it in twilight covers and put "Bella and Edward's favorite book!" on the freaking cover. Way to piggyback on the Twilight fame!

9. Clarity by Kim Harrington:
I just finished reading this book about an hour ago and fell madly in love with it. But the cover is kinda stupid. Too bad.

10. Will Grayson, Will Grayson:
It's so blah! Sadly, all of John Green's book covers suck.

  1. Some Good Ones here and I agree now that they mentioned Wuthering Heights as Edwards Fav Book , Twilight has taken over. Old Follower

  2. Great picks! #2 is exactly that... sorry for being gross, lol!

I don't like Catcher in the Rye's covers, either. That one looks really boring.

  6. I agree with all the Vampire Academy novels. They are first on my list to change too. I also think it's horrible what they did to Wuthering Heights.

  7. Definitely the ugly Catcher in the Rye covers! I've never found one that was at all satisfactory. Also, I know just how you feel about redesigned classics. I *HATE* them.

  8. Ohhh that Wuthering Heights cover makes me crazy too! I didn't like the book either...and, to be a total Twilight nerd for a second, Edward actually kind of hates Wuthering Heights, so it's not even ACCURATE. Geez!

  9. I hate that Wuthering Heights cover, but I really like some of the others. I've always loved the minimalism of Salinger covers. I guess I am kind of a fan of blah.

  10. I have to ask, have you seen the Will Grayson Will Grayson cover in person? Because it is INTENSELY SHINY! I was drawn it to it like a magpie. I still need to read it, actually.

  11. I've noticed that they've been adapting classic book covers in ways similar to your example of Wuthering Heights. On one hand, if it gets kids reading the classics, awesome; on the other hand, it can sometimes feel like pandering.

I love getting comments! I'm always checking to see if I have any new comments. It's actually pretty sad how often I check for them really. So if there is anything you want to say about a post of mine, please say it! I want feedback :)

As of lately, I'm making the blog a no-award blog. I love getting them and I'm always honored, but I don't have the time to do all the things that are required of them. Sorry :(
Also, my "reply" button does not seem to be working in my comments on my computer. I have to use a different computer to reply back so if I don't reply, it's not because I'm rude, it's just that I can't.
