Top Ten Tuesday- Unfinished Series

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by the girls over at The Broke and the Bookish

This weeks top ten is Top Ten Series I Haven't Finished (because either you didn't like them, you just have procrastinated, etc.

I have these posts I do every once and a while called  "Book Breakup" in which I talk about series I've given up on. The first four on here I've done those posts for.

As for series I haven't finished, there seems to be a ton of them. These were just the first ones to pop into my head but definitely not the only ones I haven't finished. I seem to be giving up on series easier lately. Plus I haven't been wanting to read series because then I have to try and remember everything that happened in the previous books. Too much work.

These are in no order:
1. Evernight by Claudia Grey:
This was one of the first series I got into when I first started reading YA. I thought the first one was fantastic, and it all went downhill from there. I never bothered to read the last one in the series.

2. Blue Bloods by Melissa De La Cruz:
Once my favorite character was killed off, I was done with the books. Why bother reading the rest?

3. Sookie Stackhouse Charliene Harris:
Faeries are having a war? And the vampires are joining? No. Just..no.

4. Evermore by Alyson Noel:
Me and my friend like to call Ever "Ever Stupid" (I know, it's such a clever name) because we feel like her stupidity needs to be added onto her name. I couldn't handle how ridiculous she became.

5. Shade/Shift/Shine by Jeri Smith Ready:
This is just because I'm really behind in my books. I own a signed copy of Shine (and I have my name in the acknowledgments!!!) I really really need to read the last book soon.

6. Body Finder by Kimberly Derting:
When I first read BF, I couldn't have loved it anymore. And then I got an arc in the mail for DotD 8 months before the release date and read it immediately. So when the Last Echo finally came out, I didn't remember much of what happened in DotD and just couldn't get into the story. I gave up pretty fast and hopefully sometime soon I'll be able to get into it.

7. Hush Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick:
I was madly in love with this book when I first read it, then I listened to the audiobook some time later and realized that I didn't actually care for it all that much. Soooo I've never finished the rest of the books.

8. Nightshade by Andrea Cremer:
I had the same problem with this book that I did for Hush Hush. Listened to the audiobook and realized that it was only okay and not fantastic like I remembered. Though I'm still curious as to who she ends up with. Maybe I'll just read the last chapter of the last book. Or even better, if someone would tell me in the comments that would be awesome.

9. Shiver/Linger/Forever by Maggie Stiefvater:
I didn't much care for the second book and while I still own Forever, I haven't read it. I've been told the ending was crap so it is getting pushed way back in my tbr pile.

10. Deadly Little Secret/lies/Games/Touch by Laurie Faria Stolarz:
I read the first 3 books and then realized they are all the same. There is only so many times a girl can get kidnapped and touch things to realize what is happening.

    1. I think his name was Dillion. It's been years since I've read the books so I'm not possitive about the name now. He wasn't one of the main characters, just a side one.

  2. I'm really surprised to see Wolves of Mercy Falls on few lists. I love Maggie's writing in that series. Hush, hush is my guilty pleasure, so I won't say anything.

    This is My Top Ten

    1. Maggie's writing can be pretty slow which is why she isn't for everyone. But her writing is very pretty.

  3. I'm with you on Hush, Hush. I really liked the first book, but then the second one just annoyed me.

  4. It's pretty awesome that you have your name in the acknowledgements in Shine. I haven't read that series yet but I hear great things! I read Forever sort of recently but I owned it for months and months before I finally finished that series. LOL I held off for the same reasons you have.

Thanks for stopping by my TTT!

    1. I was really excited to have my name in it. I know that there are page after page of names in it, but that's all cause we are Team Kilt :)

  6. I ended up looking up what happens in Nightshade and I know I would have been unhappy, so I'm glad I didn't keep reading. It's easy to find if you really want to know (I don't want to spoil it here tho!). I've had the same experience with books as you've had when you said you liked a story the first time and then found it annoying on a re-read. Sometimes I like a book MORE the second time around, and sometimes LESS. I didn't like Hush Hush, so if you found the second one to be more annoying, I probably shouldn't even bother with it.

    1. I ended up looking it up this morning. I found this HUGE review for it that gave away everything in a great big rant. I'm glad I didn't finish the series now.

  7. The Wolves of Mercy Falls books were on my list this week, too. I read the first one and just felt so 'meh' about it...

Great list - thanks for sharing!

  8. I haven't read Shine yet either and I need to I love that series! I hope you don't give up on Maggie Stiefvater's books all together, though. While I didn't like the WOMF books, The Scorpio Races was amazing and I heard Raven Boys is too.

  9. You don't like SOOKIE? lol. I've only read the first book. I liked the Trueblood series so much it may be influencing me. I am a Hush Hush hater though! lol. Here's Ours

    1. I read the first 8 books of the Sookie series before I realized I didn't much care for it. Haha. But I do love the tv show, mostly cause they are cutting out a lot of the crap I disliked in the books. Like vampire Elvis. Or all the faeries.

I love getting comments! I'm always checking to see if I have any new comments. It's actually pretty sad how often I check for them really. So if there is anything you want to say about a post of mine, please say it! I want feedback :)

As of lately, I'm making the blog a no-award blog. I love getting them and I'm always honored, but I don't have the time to do all the things that are required of them. Sorry :(
Also, my "reply" button does not seem to be working in my comments on my computer. I have to use a different computer to reply back so if I don't reply, it's not because I'm rude, it's just that I can't.
